Undergrad Linguistics Club
On Tuesday, October 31, the DARLings meet (as usual) at 6:30 pm in South College 301 (The Partee Room). Ryan O' Mara and David Fiske will be introducing Grice's Maxims of Conversation and dicussing some issues at the semantics--pragmatics interface. There will be food and beverages. As usual everyone/anyone is encouraged to come!

Syntax Reading Group
Syntax Reading Group meets today (October 26) at 8:00 pm at Rajesh's house. Lisa Green will present Anita Mitwoch's paper 'Unspecified arguments in episodic and habitual sentences.

Phonology Reading Group
PhG meets next on Halloween, at 3:30 pm, in the Partee Room. The group will discuss the following work:
- Chapter 1 of Paul de Lacy's new book, Markedness: Reduction and Preservation in Phonology. This relates to what Paul will talk about at his upcoming (November 3) colloq.
- A paper by Juliette Blevins that will appear in a Theoretical Linguistics volume.
