This semester-closing WHISC is our last for 2007. It is full of 21st TV for you to watch. We'll resume publication on January 25, 2008. Here's to everyone getting a lot of writing (and relaxing) done over the break.
The Linguists: A very foreign language film, a documentary that documents some of K. David Harrison and Gregory Anderson's work documenting endangered languages, will have its world premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. According to the press release, it is "the first documentary supported by the National Science Foundation to ever make it to Sundance." A link to the trailer. If you'll be in Utah at the end of January, then you might try for some tickets.
Last week's WHISC reported that Mike Frank would be speaking in the Acquisition Lab on December 19. This was a mistake. He actually spoke in the lab on December 10. Unfortunately, he won't be returning on the 19th, despite what WHISC promised. Our apologies.
